This is a 1/48 scale model of the F-117A Stealth
Fighter from Academy Plastics.
The F-117A is built mostly of aluminum and some titanium. The flat
angles, or facets, are designed to reflect radar everywhere except
back to the transmitter receiver. The Stealth is also covered with
Radar Absorbent Material to help ward off radar detection. The
F-117A is powered by tow General Electric F404-GE-F1D2 engines and
carries all weaponry internally, most often used are the GBU-27A
Paveway III Bombs. The F-117A Plastic model
features
Plastic pieces attached to sprues and molded in Black.
The surface of the plane is decorated with fully engraved panel
lines and sleek anti-radar details.
Highly detailed cockpit interior, landing gear, and bomb bay.
Flap/aileron assembly is accurately reproduced.
Armament includes one GBU-27A Pathway III Bomb that fits in the
fuselage and attaches to a detailed bomb rack.
Clear plastic canopy allows close inspection of cockpit and may be
modeled in an open or closed position.
